About Me and "Fitness and You"
I would like to provide you with some background information about me. I have spent my entire adult life being health conscious. My father was a victim of heart disease because he did not realize the importance of a healthy diet and exercise. I
swore that I would never fall into that trap and began my
education in fitness.
While in the Navy I was a Hospital Corpsman and health
was my business. Naturally since I was in pretty good
shape I volunteered for assignment with the United States
Marines at Camp LeJeune NC. In 1986 I screened for and
was accepted into the training for 2D Reconnaissance
Battalion. I was a Recon Corpsman for a good portion of
my Navy career. I had three combat tours in my 20 year
career. (Desert Storm, Somalia, Operation Iraqi Freedom)
I also volunteered and was accepted to the Surface Force
Independent Duty Corpsman School. This extensive
school certified me to provide medical care independent of
a doctor while assigned for three years on a Naval Ship
with the crew of around 350 Sailors. I was the "Doc" on
the USS TICONDEROGA.
I was always assigned the physical fitness Coordinator for
the command. The facts I learned through my own self
education and fundamental elements of physical fitness
from the Marines helped me train young men and women
to be combat ready. Not only were they physically fit, but
they were very confident.
My mission for this website is not to make you combat
ready. But I would like to share tricks that I have learned
to stay motivated so that you stay in a routine of exercise.
My commitment towards health and fitness were the drivers
to develop Fitness and You Inc and
www.yourfitnesspal.com
I would like to help a many as I can through this
website to maintain a healthier lifestyle so quality of life
improves. Healthcare costs rise everyday. The best way
to combat the costs are to get physically fit and stay
healthy.
