Fitness Equipment

To invest or not to invest in fitness equipment can be a big decision. If you have gotten to this point after you have finished the “Three Phase Program” within Fitness Success and you're asking yourself, should I join a gym or should I invest in equipment for home, then you're on the right track. You have succeeded in the first step and you are ready to move on towards your quest for physical fitness improvement. You must have already decided to make the changes in your life. This decision was a major hurdle that many have not done.

Now to be quite honest I use both. I am a member of the gym and I own equipment for the home. Always remember that gym membership and purchases of fitness equipment are investments. They are investments because you will now be more inclined to use either of them since you have found success within Fitness Success. There are many pluses and minuses for both. I am going to mention a few.

Gymnasium membership:

Plus

1. You always have someone around for safety.

2. You can always get ideas of workout routines that you see in the gym.

3. You're away from distractions that you would find at home. Such as the telephone, the TV, the kids, the neighbors, etc.

4. It is easier to get motivated at the gym.

5. Gyms normally have a wide selection of aerobic equipment so that you can have your own “Best Aerobic Exercise” routine.

Minus

1. Cost. You could have your own equipment for the cost of a couple years membership.

2. Sometimes you have to wait for certain types of equipment if the gym is crowded.

3. Sometimes the gym is a social gathering and people will want to talk.

Working out at home:

Plus

1. You always have privacy in your own home.

2. No waiting for equipment.

3. You don't have to worry about if the gym is open today or their hours of operation. You have your own hours.

4. If you have small children then you do not have to worry about childcare.

5. Easier for you to maintain your weightlifting schedule if you have your own weight set.

I hope that these few thoughts assist you in your decision on where to work out. I will provide workout information for both at home and the gym. If you decide to work out at home, some places to search for fitness equipment is in the newspaper for yard sales and ads, on the Internet and etc. Down below I have provided links to pages within Amazon for certain pieces of equipment. The prices are good and I wanted to help you find what you want so please feel free to browse the links.

Minus

1. The costs of some equipment for the home can be real expensive.

2. There is always a concern for safety. If you get injured and you're by yourself then there will be no one to assist you.

3. At home there are many distractions. The telephone, TV, dinner preparation and many others can be distractions and keep you from your workout.

4. The heat on the Gulf Coast does not make my working out in my garage very pleasant. If you live where the climate is cold a good portion of the year then it could be unpleasant for you also.

5. Workout routines may be limited to the equipment you have.
